In popular tourist cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guilin, Chengdu, Xi'an, and Chongqing, there are many cost-effective accommodation options with varying prices. It is recommended to choose based on your travel budget. However, make sure to select accommodations that can host foreign guests.
Booking transportation is also very convenient, and sometimes the prices on Trip are cheaper than on Ctrip. Didi ride-hailing can also be used within Alipay, but the driver might call ahead to communicate. If you don't speak Chinese, it is advisable to have a translation app ready, or even better, have a Chinese friend accompany you.
